What is the History of Kashmir?

Pakistan ignored the UN mandate and continued fighting, holding on to the portion of Kashmir under its control. On January 1, 1949, a ceasefire was agreed, with 65 per cent of the territory under Indian control and the remainder with Pakistan.

Yes! thats right. People here have two citizenships i.e of Jammu and Kashmir and India. Also if a girl belongs to Jammu and Kashmir gets married to a person of any other state, her citizenship gets terminated. But if she gets married to a citizen of Pakistan, then that man will get the citizenhip of Jammu & Kashmir. Also, the citizen of Jammu & Kashmir can be the citizen of India, but a citizen of India cannot be the citizen of Jammu & Kashmir.

Very surprisingly, in Jammu and Kashmir, you can insult the national flag and even burn it but no one will not get chastised for it. Here, it is not a cognizable offence. That is obviously a with a particular reference to Kashmiri separatists.

*But that does not mean you will do it, we are Indians and respecting Indian flag is our duty.

Salman Khan’s mother Salma was originally a Hindu named Sushila Charak. Her father ‘Baldev Singh Charak belonged to Jammu. In short,  Salman Khan has his ‘NANI-GHAR’ (maternal house) in Jammu.

If you belong to some other state and you have to live in J&K for a long period of time, I am sorry but you have to live in a rented accommodation and nothing can be done about that. People belonging to other states cannot purchase property here because of a special provision, the Article 370, that gives the status of being a special state to Jammu.

And YES ! As a message to my friends from all the other part of country, ” We in Jammu and Kashmir so not live with militants. Neither we have seen any militants. Also, in Jammu and in Kashmir as well, it is not always snowing and there is no need to carry woolens in the month of June while travelling to J&K.”

Srinagar is the summer capital city in Jammu and Kashmir state. Jammu is the winter capital.

The capital of Azad Kashmir is Muzaffarabad.
