AC current uses a standard "rhythm" in which each side gets its turn 60 times each second

. Additionally, HVDC allows different AC systems (e.g. 50 Hz and 60 Hz) to be connected. Despite its advantages, HVDC systems are more costly and less reliable than the common AC systems.

High cost when dealing with high current systems; i.e. larger cables, fuses, switches and other components required for high current, low voltage applications

In the end, Edison, Tesla, and Westinghouse may have their wishes come true. AC and DC can coexist and each serve a purpose.

You should now have a good understanding of the differences between AC and DC. AC is easier to transform between voltage levels, which makes high-voltage transmission more feasible.

DC, on the other hand, is found in almost all electronics. You should know that the two do not mix very well,

you will need to transform AC to DC if you wish to plug in most electronics into a wall outlet. With this understanding

The electricity is always the same polarity, which means that in a two-wire circuit, one "wire", or side of the circuit, is always negative,
