Tell about Greece history ?

They respected the Greeks and copied many things about their culture, including their buildings, beliefs and clothes.

There was never one country called ‘ancient Greece’. Instead, Greece was divided up into small city-states, like Athens, Sparta, Corinth and Olympia.

However, the construction interests of these two cultures were so different.

Each city-state ruled itself. They had their own governments, laws and army

. According to Munk (2009), the Greek were more realistic.

So, ancient Greeks living in Sparta considered themselves Spartan first, and Greek second.

Famously, the city-states didn’t get on very well and often fought each another.

It could be argued that their buildings were constructed well and have lasted for long just like the Romans but they had special interest in temples, decorative facades and columns.

However, sometimes they joined together to fight against a bigger enemy, like the Persian Empire.

Only a very powerful ruler could control all Greece. One man did in the 300s BC

They were very practical yes, but they were more interested in beauty and pleasing form. On the other hand, the Romans were more of engineers than artists

He was Alexander the Great, from Macedonia. Alexander led his army to conquer an empire that stretched as far as Afghanistan and India.

They focused more on urban planning, solid public forums ad buildings, good functioning water supply and the best roads ever constructed until then

Their statues mostly celebrated civic heroes than the gods and the goddesses they had.

The dazzling thought-world of the Greeks gave us our ideas of democracy and happiness.

Those who maintain that there was something identifiably different and even superior about the Greeks, on the other hand, are often die-hard conservatives

According Radin (2008), People were levied taxes by the governments in both cultures to pay for the roads and buildings constructed.

who have a vested interest in proving the superiority of “western” ideals.

In the Roman Empire, the local governments were allowed to levy taxes too but not in the Greek city-states empire

Literary arts flourished I both cultures but in different ways.

Both cultures liked poetry especially the long ones dealing with gods,

wars, and heroes but the Greek heroism was build over along period of time.

The oral traditions were handed down from one generation to the next.

A good example is the case of Homer’s “Iliad” which was about the Trojan War.
