What is Ladakh famous for?

Ladakh is home to Magnetic Hill, where travellers can witness the gravity defying phenomena. It is located at an elevation of 11,000 feet and is 30 kilometres distant from Leh. The setting of road with slope of background creates an illusion of an upward hill while it is actually a downward hill.

“Little Tibet” was almost totally isolated from the forces of modernization till 1970s, when western education permeated the Ladakhi villages. Later in 1975, the region was opened to foreign tourists. With every phase of development, the Ladakhis grew up learning how to dress, how to provide themselves with shelter, how to make shoes out of yak skin and robes from the wool of sheep and how to build houses out of mud and stone.

Nestled between Suru River and Dras River, Bailey Bridge is the highest bridge in the world. Indian Army built this bridge in 1982 at a height of 5,602 meters above sea level.

These self-empowered women encourage many other women to participate in the same and especially encourages nuns to train in Kung-Fu.

Since Ladakh is one of the most sought-after tourist places in India, and also the world, the business is quite profound. You will find a lot of small businesses and shops. They cater to the needs of the tourists who visit each year. Mostly, women manage these shops and businesses.
