One thing is sure – if Bose did die in the air crash then he succeeded in his fight for India’s independence. He went to England to accomplish his parents’ desire to appear in the Indian Civil Services.

Netaji worked under Chittaranjan Das, a prominent Congress leader who, along with Motilal Nehru, left the Congress Party to form the Swaraj Party in 1922. He started a newspaper called ‘Swaraj’ and even edited the ‘Forward’ newspaper started by his mentor Chittaranjan Das.

Netaji was the editor in chief of the newspaper” Forward”. He was made to be exposed sometimes in writing jobs but later on managed to open his own newspaper called Swaraj.

In 1920 he appeared for the competitive examination and stood fourth in the order of merit.

In 1923, Netaji was elected the President of All India Youth Congress Committee.

The all India Forward Bloc was founded by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. His elder brother Sarat Chandra Bose and Chitta Basu had been important members of it in independent India. It had its main stronghold in West Bengal. He traveled around the country, rallying support for his new political project.

Deeply moved by the Jallianwalla Bagh massacre in Punjab, Subhash Chandra Bose left his Civil Services apprenticeship midway and returned to India.

In 1942, he formed the Indian National Army in Southeast Asia with the help of Japan, comprising Indian soldiers of the British Indian army captured in war. Netaji established a provisional government of Free India or Azad Hind in 1943 in Andaman and Nicobar.
