What is Marvel ?

Like we said in the introduction, we are also taking the hero's other powers into consideration, and Vision has a lot of abilities that would let him win in a fight against Luke Cage or Drax, which is what places him above the two.

Specifically, his flight and solar beams would definitely leave him the victor of a fight with either hero, and both good augment his physical strength exponentially.

GROOT

Now we are getting into the higher tiers of super strength in the Marvel universe; the 100 tons or more category.

First off, we have everyone' favorite tree alien, Groot, who is one of the strongest superheroes out there.

Groot's tree-like body is denser and stronger than most superheroes on Earth, which in turn grants him great strength that can increase exponentially as he changes his size and shape, another powerful ability his plant body grants him.

Though he might be in the 100 tons category, his strength is essentially limitless, since, as mentioned, he is able to increase his size and effortlessly regenerate parts of his body that are lost, meaning he can add to his strength with ease.

But, since these powers are reliant on changing his form, we're going to count him at his base form only, placing him at the bottom of the higher strength tier.

Next up we have a character that for some reason, doesn't show up on the strength scale: Miss America.

Otherwise known as America Chavez, this young superhero has a plethora of powers, including flight, super speed, invulnerability, the power to travel through the multiverse and, of course, super strength. So, if her strength isn't on the strength scale, then where do we place Miss. America?

Well, there is one part of America's comic book history that helps us rank her strength: her fight against Loki.

Asgardians are incredibly strong on their own, and America was able to nearly beat the trickster god, meaning she is as strong as Loki, if not a bit stronger.

The precursor to Marvel Comics was founded in 1939 by pulp magazine publisher Martin Goodman. In order to capitalize on the growing popularity of comic books—especially those starring superheroes—Goodman created Timely Comics.

But, Loki is not as strong as his brother, only able to lift around 50 tons, which means Chavez is not at Thor standards.

Timely’s first comic book was Marvel Comics no. 1 (cover dated October 1939), which featured several superhero characters, most notably the Human Torch and the Sub-Mariner.

But, with her various other powers, including her ability to temporarily increase her strength, Miss. America stands firm at number 15 on this list.

Timely Comics introduced many superhero characters during comics’ “Golden Age” in the 1940s, most importantly Captain America, who first appeared in Captain America Comics no. 1 (March 1941).

CAPTAIN BRITAIN

Timely characters were often portrayed as fighting against the Nazis and the Japanese even before the United States entered World War II.

Now here's a hero that isn't exactly on everyone's radar: Captain Britain. Unlike Captain America, Captain Britain's powers are a HUGE upgrade from a normal human, rather that just being the peak human potential.

As the 1940s came to a close, superheroes fell out of vogue with comic book readers, and Timely canceled the last of its books in this genre in 1950.

In 1951 Goodman formed his own distribution company, and Timely Comics became Atlas Magazines.
