What is story of Buddha ?

Finally, at a place called Bodhgaya, the future Buddha decided to remain in meditation until he knew mind’s true nature and could benefit all beings.

The Buddha's last words were, "Decay is inherent in all things: be sure to strive with clarity of mind (for Nirvana)."

The ultimate goal of Buddhism is to put an end to suffering and rebirth. The way to end suffering is by fulfilling the human potential for goodness and happiness.

After spending six days and nights cutting through mind’s most subtle obstacles, he reached enlightenment on the full moon morning of May, a week before he turned thirty-five.

The symbol of the Noble Eightfold Path represents the Buddhist faith. Its eight spokes represent the "Middle Way," which means a Buddhist life should not be too hard nor too easy.

All separation in time and space disappeared. Past, present, and future, near and far, melted into one radiant state of intuitive bliss.

Buddhism doesn't have a single leader, and there is not a central office similar to that of the Pope in Catholicism, which means Buddhism tends to fissure readily.

At the moment of full realization, all veils of mixed feelings and stiff ideas dissolved and Buddha experienced the all-encompassing here and now.

The Buddha had only one son named Rahula ("Fetter"). Shortly after he was born, the Buddha left his family to seek enlightenment. His son would later become the first Sāmanera (novice monk)

Through every cell in his body he knew and was everything. He became Buddha, the Awakened One.

Buddhists in Asia do not refer to their religion as "Buddhism." Rather, they call it either Dharma ("law") or the Buddha-sasana ("teachings of the Buddha")

After his enlightenment, Buddha traveled on foot throughout northern India. He taught constantly for forty-five years.

One morning Prince Siddhartha and his cousin Devadatta, went for a walk in the woods. Siddhartha pointed out a swan flying in the sky to Devadatta. Before Siddhartha could stop him, Devadatta shot an arrow at it.

Struck by the arrow, the bird went down. Both the boys ran towards it. Siddhartha was the first to reach the spot.

He picked up the bird, gently removed the arrow, and nursed its wound. Just then Devadatta reached the spot. “Give me the bird, it’s mine,” said Devadatta.

Siddharth refused to part with the bird. Devadatta took his cousin to court for justice.

“I shot the arrow and brought the bird down. It belongs to me,” said Devadatta.

“I nursed its wound,” said Siddhartha.

The judge looked at the bird Siddhartha was holding.

The bird belongs to the one who saved it, and not to the one who tried to kill it,” said the wise judge.

“Had the bird been killed by your arrow, you could have claimed it,” said the judge. “But Siddhartha saved it.
