What is Illuminati ?

People may have heard of the concept of the Illuminati, but they cannot be sure whether or not it is the stuff of myth, legend and superstition, or whether this organisation really has infiltrated every aspect of society and controls the population of the world.

The Bilderberg website states that the meeting is an amalgam of leaders and experts from politics, media and business who are invited to discuss megatrends and major issues facing the world.

Illuminati has existed since the dawn of time. Its insignia can be seen on the pyramids, its influence was evident around the life of Christ, and their top bananas – such as for example the Queen – are in fact ancient lizards dating from an era before man existed (a belief that often comes with some rather unpleasant antisemitic underpinnings).

Conspiracy theorists would have you believe that the Illuminati is still at large, controlling the world on a global scale due to its presence inside worldwide financial institutions, national governments and even multi-national organisations.

Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Jay Z, Madonna, Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga, Rihanna. Yes, the music industry in fact controls the planet, via, we must assume, the rise of free music-streaming services, which are rapidly causing their own demise. It’s a very clever cover-up.

According to a 2013 poll of US voters by Public Policy Polling (a Democrat-leaning polling firm), 28%. Something to ponder.

What makes the meetings mysterious and what has obviously led to conspiracies around it, is that the meetings are held under the “Chatham Rule,” meaning the identity of any attendees is kept secret.

But, if this secret society is as powerful as some people believe, how did it come to gain such a strong and far-reaching influence? Where did the Illuminati originate from and, if it is a secret organisation, how do people actually know about it? Also, what symbols other than the All-Seeing Eye are associated with this secret organisation?

Conspiracies surrounding the plans hashed out at Bilderberg meetings concern the plotting of a New World Order and range in methods from population control, through the spread of diseases

like AIDS and Ebola, to Chemtrails, geo-engineering, and a secret space program.

Other tactics thought to be plotted at these meetings include bribery and compromising of politicians through devious means.

A major point of contention, for American citizens that are potentially involved in these meetings

is that they are violating the law through the Logan Act, which prohibits unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments having a dispute with the U.S.

The Illuminati refers to several different groups. The name derives from the Latin illuminatur, which means “enlightened.”

Whether the Illuminati is real or still active is up for debate, but the clandestine Bilderberg meetings will undoubtedly continue to fuel conspiracies.

Let’s dispense with the Da Vinci Code version of the group, and move on to reality: The Bavarian Illuminati, a secret society that was founded in 1776, coalesced at the University of Ingolstadt.
