The Asian Cup flies under a lot of radars but there is some extra spice that might just attract more interest.

FIFA Women’s World Cup June 7 – July 7

After hosting Euro 2016, France will be the setting for the 2019 Women’s World Cup. As in Canada in 2015, there will be 24 countries competing.

Chile, Jamaica, Scotland, and South Africa will all take first bows at the Women's World Cup.

Italy returns to the competition for the first time in two decades.

Scotland plays England on June 9 in the opening game for both countries. The game will be played in Nice,

but it will probably be anything but ……if you get my drift.

Copa America June 14 – July 7

The draw of the tournament will take place on 24 January in Rio. The twelve teams will be drawn into three groups of four.

Ten CONMEBOL countries will compete along with two invited guest countries –

Japan and Qatar. Chile is the defending champion.

CONCACAF Gold Cup June 15 – July 7

The competition has been expanded to include 16 countries for the first time (historically 12) although only six countries are currently guaranteed a spot.

The top ten countries in the CONCACAF Nations League qualifying competition will also qualify.
