How much should I be paid? Although some exceptions may apply, in most circumstances you must be paid the federal minimum wage, $7.25 per hour.

A good rule of thumb is to keep the lower end of your range at least 10 percent above your current salary, or the number you determine is a reasonable salary for the position.

For example, if you currently earn $50,000, you may say that your range is $55,000 to $65,000.

Many companies have a written notice policy in their handbook. It's usually 2 weeks, but could be more

If you don't give two weeks notice, you may lose any vacation pay out or planned bonus that you would otherwise receive.

Tell your boss. The first person at your workplace to find out about your plans to leave should be your boss, manager, or supervisor.
